This group includes other units of competency from RTD02 Conservation and Land Management, RTE03 Rural Production, RTF03 Amenity Horticulture and/or other endorsed Training Packages.
Units selected must be aligned to Certificate II, III or IV outcomes. These units must be relevant to work undertaken in the horticulture sector.
QUALIFICATION RULES
For a Certificate III in Horticulture (Turf) at least 12 of the units of competency presented for this qualification must relate to turf work procedures, activities or contexts. In addition, at least 12 of the units selected to make up this qualification must be aligned clearly to Certificate III outcomes.

Entry requirements
- Age - 18 years and over for all students.
English Proficiency Requirement
Domestic Students (Australian Permanent Residents and New Zealand Citizens):
- Must complete a Language Literacy & Numeracy Assessment, assessed by the Language Studies Department.
International Students:
- Student visa a granted based on country assessment level hence this will dictate the level of English proficiency and type of English proficiency test you will need to have done to secure a student visa and also gain entry into this program.
All students must complete a language and numeracy assessment assessed by the Language Studies Department at HSA, this is always done prior to commencement of your course. Students are encouraged to have completed an IELTS although this is not a mandatory requirement enrolment with HSA.
- Assessment Level 1: HSA English proficiency test if none specified by the department of immigration during your visa application
- Assessment Level 2: HSA English proficiency test if none specified by the department of immigration during your visa application
- Assessment Level 3: IELTS 5.5 Overall Band Score, if IELTS 4.5 student must do 24 weeks of ELICOS prior to commencement of this course. If IELTS 5.0 student must do 12 weeks of ELICOS prior to commencement of this course
- Assessment Level 4 - IELTS 5.5 Overall Band Score, if IELTS 5.0 student must do 12 weeks of ELICOS prior to commencement of this course
Academic Requirement (for all students) Candidates will be eligible to enter the course if they meet the following admission criteria:
- Equivalent to Australian Year 10 general schooling or 2 years work experience in horticultural related field.
