Note: the duration  time  stated is the maximum  timeframe to  complete the  program and is  stated  on the  student’s  CoE.  Students can  apply  to  extend   their period of  study  ONLY if  it  is  clear that  the  student  will not  complete the  course  within the  expected  duration as  notified  by the  student’s  CoE as  the  result of:

compassionate or compelling  circumstances (e.g.  illness where a medical  certificate states that the  student  was unable to  attend  classes or where the  registered provider (HSA) was  unable to  offer a  pre-requisite unit 

OR

the registered provider (HSA) implementing  it’s intervention  strategy  for  students who  were at  risk  of not meeting  satisfactory  course progress 

OR

an approved  deferment or  suspension of  study  has  been  granted  under  Standard  13 of the ESOS  National  Code.

Entry requirements

Applicants must be 18 years or older
Successful completion of Year 10 or equivalent level of study.
Overseas students require English language proficiency of either Academic or General IELTS level of 5.5 overall with no less than 5.0 in each individual band (listening, reading, writing, speaking) from Assessment Levels 3,4, or 5. Overseas students from Assessment Levels 1 & 2 are required to complete HSA proficiency tests and successful completion will result in direct entry. Students with unsatisfactory results will be required to undertake an ELICOS program to satisfy entry requirements – the number of weeks of study will be determined by the Director of Studies and the test results.
