RTF20503 Certificate II in Horticulture (Retail Nursery)

Duration: 1 year (52 wks)

Mode:
Full-time basis (approximately 20 hours per week).

A total of 17 units of competency must be completed
•    Select 9 units from Group A below (including the 4 designated compulsory units)
•    Select 5 additional units from Group A and/or B below
•    Select 3 additional units from Group A, B and/or C below

Units should be selected from Group A and Group B in accordance with local work undertaken and local industry advice.

GROUP C

This group includes other units of competency from RTD02 Conservation and Land Management, RTE03 Rural Production, RTF03 Amenity Horticulture and/or other endorsed Training Packages.
Units selected must be aligned to Certificate I, II or III outcomes.  These units must be relevant to work undertaken in the horticulture sector.

QUALIFICATION RULES
For a Certificate II in Horticulture (Retail Nursery) at least 13 of the units of competency presented for this qualification must relate to retail nursery work procedures, activities or contexts.  In addition, at least 13 of the units selected to make up this qualification must be aligned clearly to Certificate II outcomes.

Entry Requirements
  • Age - 18 years and over for all students.
English Proficiency Requirement
Domestic Students (Australian Permanent Residents and New Zealand Citizens):

  • Must complete a Language Literacy & Numeracy Assessment, assessed by the Language Studies Department.

All students must complete a language and numeracy assessment assessed by the Language Studies Department at HSA, this is always done prior to commencement of your course.

Academic Requirement (for all students) Candidates will be eligible to enter the course if they meet the following admission criteria:

  • Equivalent to Australian Year 10 general schooling or 2 years work experience in horticultural related field.

RTF30503 Certificate III in Horticulture (Retail Nursery)

Duration: 1 year (52 wks)

Note: the  duration  time  stated is the maximum  timeframe to  complete the  program and is  stated  on the  student’s  CoE.  Students  can  apply  to  extend   their period of  study  ONLY if  it  is  clear that  the  student  will not  complete the  course  within the  expected  duration as  notified  by the  student’s  CoE as  the  result of :

compassionate or compelling  circumstances (e.g.  illness where a medical  certificate states that the  student  was unable to  attend  classes or where the  registered provider (HSA) was  unable to  offer a  pre-requisite unit

OR

the registered provider (HSA) implementing  it’s intervention  strategy  for  students who  were at  risk  of not meeting  satisfactory  course progress

OR

an approved  deferment or suspension of  study  has  been  granted  under  Standard  13 of the ESOS  National  Code.

Mode:
