Introducing Horticultural Skills Australia (HSA)

This is an invitation to potential education agents interested in recruitment of international representing a specialist provider delivering customised training for the Australian Horticulture Industry.

Rabarl Pty Ltd, t/s Horticultural Skills Australia, would like to introduce ourselves as a CRICOS Registered Private Training Organization, specializing in consulting and delivery of high quality training to Australian Horticulture Industry for over 6 years.

HSA has the largest number of clients from abroad in Australia, currently studying Horticultural related courses (Stats. AEI DEST 2007). We are a 'specialist training provider' offering only Horticultural and English language courses listed on our scope of registration (see attached), the English language (ELICOS) courses are there mainly to support international clients with any difficulties that they may have with regards to English language ability. We also conduct IELTS Preparation classes for international students.

As a consulting firm we have been in existence for 15 years, originally founded by Mr. Ram Gopal, ex-University of Melbourne - lecturer and program co-coordinator of VET training program at University of Melbourne - Gilbert Chandler Campus and VETASSESS Assessor for 12 years. Our Principal Executive Officer Mr. John Brereton, also an ex-Melbourne University Program Developer and course presenter for the Vocational Education sector brings to HSA over 25 years of rich horticultural expertise in education and training.

HSA currently has two campus locations in Melbourne CBD, where it delivers Horticulture and Award ELICOS programs (Nationally Recognized Training) and Werribee Campus (Horticultural Delivery Centre and Laboratory), we also deliver training at 'Portogallo & Sons Nursery' & 'Mason Bros' (largest vegetable grower in Metropolitan Melbourne) and furthermore, have our own 17 Acre farm situated at in Werribee South (key area for vegetable production). We provide to students on a daily basis free bus service from Laverton Station to Portogallo & Sons Nursery for their relevant practical skills training.

A large percentage of our students end up with distinguished careers within the Australian Horticulture Industry. Attached please find a recent article by one of the student's in our newsletter issued quarterly and also a recent article with regards to skills shortage in the Australian Ag/Hort Industries. The occupations highlighted are related to "REAL" shortages (96,000 workers shortage per year) in Horticulture industry alone, comprising Farm Hands, Crops Farmers, Mixed Crop, and Operators and book-keepers with Agricultural or Horticultural background.

HSA offers high quality industry-based training linked with qualifications for all occupations in the Australian horticulture industry ranging from Certificates - Graduate Certificate program with a clear pathway into articulated Degree programs with options in Amenity Horticulture and Horticultural Operations streams.
